Privacy policy
1. Who we are
BuyBonds.co.nz operates this website. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and the information privacy principles.
2. What we collect
If you submit an enquiry we collect your name, email address, phone number, the bond you asked about and the indicative amount you entered. We also collect technical information automatically: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring site and advertising click identifiers.
3. Why we collect it
To respond to your enquiry, to pass it to a licensed broker or provider so they can send you offer documents, to prevent fraud and abuse, and to understand which pages and campaigns are useful so we can improve the site.
4. Who we share it with
Enquiry details are shared with a licensed New Zealand or Australian broker or provider so they can contact you. Our current partner broker and its licence details are set out in section 6 of our terms of use. We also use service providers for hosting, email delivery and analytics, who process information on our instructions. We do not sell your personal information.
5. Overseas transfer
Because our partner broker is based in Australia, and because some of our hosting and email providers operate overseas, your information may be transferred to and stored outside New Zealand. We take reasonable steps to ensure comparable protection applies.
6. Cookies and advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies, including Microsoft Advertising conversion tracking, to measure whether an advertisement led to an enquiry. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may then work less well. More detail is in our data collection notice.
7. Storage and retention
Enquiry records are held in a secured database with access limited to those who need it, and kept only as long as necessary for the purpose collected or as required by law.
8. Your rights
You may ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@buybonds.co.nz or use our contact page. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The version published on this page is the version that applies.
